The difference the right soundtrack can make for your movie is astounding. Equally astounding is that you can probably find just the right songs for little or no money if you do some detective work.
Make sure you read any and all licensing agreements very carefully before using any music (or any other licensed item) in any of your movies. Don't steal other people's work, and don't use music if you feel the associated agreement is unreasonable.
Remember that most music will have either an upfront fee or it will require royalties (or both). Pay-once music is often called "buy out" music or "royalty free" music, but always check the license agreement to be safe.
